Youth Ministry At Mt. Calvary
We want all of our youth to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We have designed our youth ministry to deepen understanding of the greatness of our God, and to give encouragement in the pursuit of godliness. Check out our events page to see any upcoming events for the youth of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Sunday School Classes - Sunday's 9:15 A.M. - 10:15 A.M.
- Sunday School at Mt. Calvary is for students in preK-12th Grade. During Sunday School, children learn about who God is, how He loves them and how that love changes their lives by hearing and discussing Bible stories. Sunday School lessons have a combination of story, discussion and activity time in order to engage and encourage all children in their learning. While all our students in preK-12th grade may be hearing the same story and central truth, each grade group has an unique lesson geared directly to learners that age.
L.I.F.E. Class - Wednesdays September - April - 6:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
- LIFE class is Mt. Calvary’s midweek Bible education offering for children in 1st-5th Grade. Following a light meal, all students attend music and opening activities together, then go to classrooms in grade groups (1st-3rd Grade and 4th-5th Grade) for 30 to 40 minutes of traditional learning and discussion time followed by craft and activity times to enhance students’ learning. The general appearance and energy of an average Wednesday at LIFE class is very similar to that of Vacation Bible School. Our schedule was intentionally created in order to give our students a proper amount of time for classroom learning while keeping them active enough to remain attentive as they learn important Biblical truths following a long day at school.
- In addition, Pastor leads our youth in Grades 6-8 in a study of "Luther's Catechism" preparing them for confirmation.
Children's Messages
- During both church services, the children are invited to the front of the church for a brief children's message before the sermon. Most children's messages are an object lesson based off a short section of one of that week's readings. Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the children's message, and we are happy to have parents and grandparents join children and grandchildren if they are not comfortable up front alone.
